STATEMENT OF THE JOB
The position will be responsible for assisting in the operation of the aquatic facility. Public Relations is a part of this position's responsibilities. This is a part time, seasonal position with no guaranteed number of work hours. Prefer: strong math skills, basic recordkeeping skills, cash register experience and experience dealing with the public.
Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age.

Candidates must possess current American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, Life guarding, and Water Safety Instructor certifications. Preferred candidate will also possess the American Red Cross Instructor Trainer certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.Ensures that all measures are taken to provide for the safety of pool patrons and the aquatic facility staff.Assists in guaranteeing that staffing levels are met when pool is occupied.Plans, conducts and documents in-service training; ensuring that all staff have current certification and required training.Assists the Pool Manager in ensuring that the safety and cleanliness of the facility is maintained at all times and that repairs are made in a prompt manner at the direction of the Manager/Supervisor.Maintains supplies and inventory for the Aquatics division.Maintains a professional daily log which includes pool and weather conditions, incidents, needs, and staff meetings.Posts and enforces pool rules; provides support for the aquatic facility staff in enforcing the pool rules; settles disputes with pool patrons.Supervises aquatic facility staff.Assists cashiers with closing, signs cash sheets, locks monies in the safe at night; takes deposits to Park & Recreation Office as needed.Be familiar with and practice American Red Cross standards and have thorough knowledge of emergency action plans and have the ability to carry them out.Maintain current certifications in first-aid, CPR, and lifeguard training.Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.Complies with and promotes safe practices in agreement with the safety rules and procedures set forth in the Loss Control Program.Performs related duties as assigned.Represents the City with respect, confidence and trust that our colleagues and community place in us.
