Description
Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Finance Director, the Senior Accountant- Manufacturing is responsible for the correct costing of products, the accurate reporting and tracking of inventory and supporting plant management with actionable financial analysis and other critical monitoring and reporting activities. This role is based full time at our cheese manufacturing operation in Kenosha, WI. with limited but occasional day travel to a satellite operation in Waterloo, WI.
Key Responsibilities:Maintain accurate and up to date cost accounting records, including BOMs, labor, and overhead costs.Prepare and analyze monthly cost variance reports, including collaborating with plant management to ensure accurate understanding of actual costs as compared to standard costing.Help maintain and monitor plant KPIs such as labor costs, efficiencies and inventory levels.Perform physical inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies.Analyze cost trends to identify improvement opportunities.Prepare budgets, forecasts, and other month-end and weekly reports.Support internal and external audits.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel.Strong attention to detail and analytical skillsDemonstrated time management skillsAbility to work cross functionally with plant operations, finance teams and managementStrong problem-solving skillsSolid verbal and written communication skills
