Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead a high-stakes data center migration project and oversee IT integration.This role is ideal for a highly organized professional with expertise in data center relocation, VMware environments, and application migration, combined with hands-on experience.The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and completing the relocation of critical infrastructure to a new data center while ensuring data integrity, business continuity, and minimal disruption to operations.

Summary of Duties:

Lead and manage a comprehensive data center migration project, including physical and virtualized infrastructure, network, storage, power, and cooling.Oversee IT integration for mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, technical assessments, and seamless system migration and integration.Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proper configuration and migration of VMware environments, SAN/NAS storage, and network infrastructure.Develop detailed project plans, set timelines, allocate resources, and manage project budgets.Ensure all physical and virtual environments adhere to compliance standards and best practices.Implement a robust disaster recovery and business continuity plan to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related fieldMinimum of 8-10 years of experience in technical project management within IT infrastructure, data centers, and application migration.Proven track record in handling large-scale data center migration projects, with experience specifically in relocating and consolidating infrastructure across sites.Experience with due diligence assessments, IT infrastructure evaluation, and transition planningAbility to work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment of technical systemsHands-on experience with end-to-end data center relocations, including server, storage, networking, cooling, power, and safety systems.Strong VMware experience, including vSphere, vMotion, and vCenter management, with a deep understanding of virtual environments and live migrations.Familiarity with storage (SAN, NAS), network (routers, switches, firewalls), and physical asset migration, along with application migration methodologies.In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure components, including UPS, CRAC units, fire suppression, and structured cabling.Knowledge of Network configuration (VLAN, IP schema, VPN setup) and ability to handle both physical and virtual network changes.Space Cleanup and Closeout: Power down and dismantle unused servers, storage, and network equipment. Return or dispose of obsolete equipment.

Other Skills:

Effective oral and written communications skills.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments with attention to detail.Strong problem-solving skills, experience managing complex technical projects in high-pressure environments.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.3-5 years working knowledge of Windows 10, 2016, 2020, Active Directory, Group Policy, etc.3-5+ years working knowledge of Virtualization and Network engineering.
