Information Technology (IT) provides technical services, manages the county's technical resources, and provides consulting services for technology improvements through three programs: Administration, Operations, and Technology Solutions. These programs provide a complete range of technology services which include strategic planning, new service design, business analysis, project management, security risk management, data security, applications delivery and support networks, servers and storage, desktop and mobile management, database administration, and end-user support.
The IT Administrator - 365 is responsible for the administration of Microsoft 365 (M365) online environment and overseeing the life cycle of the organization's M365 Office platforms as a service. This role requires a deep understanding of M365 services, including email, Identity and Access Management, Microsoft Data Management, Governance, Microsoft Client & Device Management Solutions for provisioning, user training, support services, and related technologies. Also, this position is required to support for services including but not limited to: Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, OneNote, Power Apps, Power BI, Teams, Project, Visio, Visual Studio, Microsoft Azure Cloud tools (Entra ID, Intune, and Autopilot). Includes monitoring, applying security policies, and troubleshooting of endpoints. This position will work collaboratively with the lead and IT Supervisor to ensure that the M365 can deliver the services our customers need.GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIESAn IT Administrator will provide enterprise support; plan, design, maintain, and implement services within a specified technical discipline. Assist and support IT employees to resolve technology development and integration issues and accommodate growth and expansion. - Responsible for enterprise servers, storage, authentication, cloud services, enterprise operating systems, computer systems security, all related enterprise computing hardware infrastructure, administration, and configuration. Large servers, virtual hosts, virtual servers, enterprise storage systems, directory services for identity and access management, and enterprise cloud services.
SUPERVISION RECEIVEDWork under the general supervision of an IT Supervisor, IT Manager, or designee who assigns work, establishes goals, and reviews work for conformance to technical and department standards and in compliance with department goals.
All services will be provided in the office. Remote work is not available.
Typical Duties - Duties include, but are not limited to the following
Technology Support and ManagementManage user licenses for identities and access controls within the M365 admin center, including but not limited to: Entra ID, OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook online, Exchange Online, Intune, Autopilot, Power Apps, Power BI, SharePoint.Help implement Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to enhance security and user experience.Document the configuration of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and privilege management to enforce least privilege access principles.Administer Exchange Online, including mailbox management, distribution lists, mail flow rules, and message hygiene settings.Manage Microsoft Teams for collaboration, including channels, meetings, chat and integration with other M365 services.Assists with designing, planning, and implementing M365 solutions to meet the organization's business needs and technical requirements.Document the configuration of administration for M365 services, including but not limited to: Exchange Online, Outlook Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business, OneNote, Power Apps, Power BI, and Office 365 applications.Document and configure Microsoft 365 Business Security Best Practices to provide secure computing for compliance requirements, including but not limited to: CJIS, PCI, PII, HIPAA, FERPA, and FISMA.Infrastructure Governance and Lifecycle ManagementDocument, configure Microsoft Lifecycle policy.Manage, configure, and implement user Lifecycle Management for M365 Software.Implement data governance policies to protect and manage data across M365.Monitor and manage data usage and storage consumption, optimizing resources and addressing potential compliance risks.Collaborate with stakeholders to define and enforce Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) policies and procedures.Document, configure, and Implement Microsoft security and compliance features such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Conditional Access, and information protection policies.Optimize SharePoint Online sites and libraries for Document Lifecycle Management, version control, and collaboration workflows.Infrastructure SupportProvide training and support to end-users on M365 applications and features, promoting best practices for productivity and collaboration.Develop and maintain self-service resources such as knowledge base articles, FAQs, and video tutorials.Assist with user onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring seamless transition of access and data.Perform root cause analysis of incidents and implement preventive measures to minimize future disruptions.Stay current with M365 updates, releases, and roadmap announcements, evaluating new features and capabilities for adoption.Identify opportunities to utilize the Power Platform for process automation, workflow, optimization, cost reduction with the M365 environment.
