The Sales Director will oversee all behind the meter / distributed generation sales activities and directly drive new solar, storage and other energy infrastructure Energy Service Agreement (ESA) sales within the Eastern US. The Sales organization will rely on you to develop target market and segment entry strategies, pursuing new opportunities for growth in rapidly expanding and evolving markets throughout the Eastern US. As a leader, the Sales team relies on you to guide critical decision-making at the market level and to determine broader strategic initiatives. You will use your analytic and problem-solving skills to develop persuasive value propositions for prospective clients and sound economic fundamentals for investors. Working collaboratively with a team of development, engineering, legal, and project finance professionals, you will skillfully influence the decision-makers of our current and future clients in conjunction with the Sales organization’s initiatives. The Sales Director sits at the nexus of the Sales organization by skillfully pulling the efforts of the team while still bringing industry-leading individual direct sales experience to the company.JOB LOCATION AND REPORTING TOThis position will be based in our New York City office or for the right candidate as a remote position. The Sales Director reports to a Senior Director, Behind the Meter Sales and works closely with the Marketing and Sales teams.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn sales performance in target markets nationwide.Manage individual and team efforts to meet and exceed annual targets.Leverage deep Eastern region industry knowledge to quickly assess the economic viability of project proposals and propose ways to increase project revenue streams or reduce costs.Lead interactions with Finance, Development, Engineering, Legal and Management to help efficiently advance market initiatives and project proposals.Track and evaluate emerging regulatory rulings, regional state and/or utility energy incentive programs, and assess the potential for market creationEstablish and manage a new network of regional partners who support origination, development or project deliveryOwn the tracking, accountability, and forecasting of sales pipeline.Lead contract negotiations of Power Purchase Agreement/ESA, Lease, Cash purchase or other relevant project documentation on direct origination efforts .Keep sales moving at high velocity while continually looking for opportunistic or strategic opportunities for the company to refine or perfect its approach.Coach junior salespeople through process from lead generation to contract negotiation.Hire and attract new sales talent to the company as needed.Work with the marketing team to ensure conferences and lead generation efforts contribute to sales goals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSThis position is primarily sedentary in nature and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk in front of a computer. This position requires approximately 30% travel into certain markets.
