Based on experience ($100,000 - $140,000 total compensation which includes base salary and bonuses.)Hours:
Full-time. We are flexible but normal office hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Mon to Fri.ResponsibilitiesTimely communication with clients, team members, other departments and agencies, execute a weekly plan with the whole team for case review of all cases assigned.Timely drafting and filing of court pleadings and applications for relief, review and conduct quality control of completed applications, draft legal briefs, and review of supporting documentation for immigration relief.Review legal assistants’ and/or paralegals’ work product, forms, clients’ declarations and documents, and finalize packets for filing with USCIS.Prepare for client meetings, create strategies, and guide clients to provide necessary information and documentation to build strong cases. Provide zealous representation, conduct legal research, formulate legal strategy, conduct client interviews, and appear before state and/or immigration courts or agencies.Effective delegation: Maximize delegation to all members of the team, leveraging attorney time, knowledge, and production. Delegating appropriately, using technology to its highest and best use.Meet individual goals and contribute to meeting firm goals; therefore must work well independently and with a team: Based on KPIs and Expectations.QualificationsMust be licensed to practice law by the highest court of any state in the U.S.Minimum 5 years practicing in EOIR and USCIS in mainly family-based immigration including but not limited to waivers, consular processing, VAWA, and U and T visas.Comprehensive knowledge of immigration law and procedure.Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.Strong strategic mind, litigation experience, experience with legal research, and writing.Agility to navigate at a fast pace and growing firm with a positive attitude and aptitude.Disciplined adherence to best practices, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and work under pressure.Ability to work both independently and under supervision.Ability to identify, analyze, and research legal issues affecting the organization, and make recommendations to address the problem.Have an innate love for zealously representing immigrants.A genuine interest in working with immigrants and victims of trauma.Basic knowledge of MS 365, PDF, Excel, and proficient typing.Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.Ability to travel to our office in Escondido, CA and work with virtual legal assistants.About Law Offices of Erin J.
