Director of Sales

Looking for a Director of Sales for the new Staybridge Suites Grandville hotel. Must be a self-starter, have a positive attitude, work well with others, be goal-oriented, and resourceful.SUMMARY OF POSITION:This position assists the General Manager and Regional Sales Manager to develop, implement, promote, and follow through on actions and activities to increase the hotel’s business revenues. This position is a “Results Oriented” position. This individual must have the ability to easily and willingly adapt to changes in policy, procedures, or work environment.Position Responsibilities:Contact potential customers to develop and generate business for the hotelRespond to all leads for business in a timely mannerCoordinate group bookings, meetings, events, corporate rates, and the organization of sales activities to maximize resultsOwn and hit/exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory and accountsDevelop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer baseBuild and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationshipsPartner with customers to understand their business needs and objectivesEffectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentationsUnderstand category-specific landscapes and trendsReport on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accountsContract Group Blocks, Corporate Rates, and Meetings & EventsSkills:Ability to communicate with and influence clientsDrive the sales process from plan to closeArticulate the distinct aspects of products and servicesAbility to position products against competitorsListening, negotiation, and presentation skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMinimum Requirements:Hotel Experience - 6 months Minimum RequiredHotel Sales Experience - Preferred but not requiredExtended Stay Experience - Preferred but not requiredIHG Experience - Preferred but not requiredJob Type:
