South Dakota State University's (SDSU) Office of Human Resources is currently seeking an HR professional to join our team as an HR Generalist III. If you are committed to quality customer service and have a strong interest and ability in managing FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Compensation, then this position could be for you! SDSU Human Resources provides comprehensive and collaborative leadership and services to proactively support the needs of our stakeholders through professional, timely, customer-oriented processes.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide elevated support and professional Human Resources consultation to employees and supervisors in the areas of FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Compensation; provide HR operations and employee offboarding assistance; and collaborate with other stakeholders, including System Payroll Center, Risk Management and Environmental Health and Safety, etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:Human Resource functions and practices in areas of FMLA, workers compensation, and/or ADA accommodations; andComputer systems and software (PeopleAdmin, Banner, Microsoft Office, etc.)Skills & Ability to:
Guide employees and supervisors through sensitive, confidential and emotional situations while providing exceptional customer service;Manage FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation activities, requiring a high level of attention to detail, analytical skills and discretion;Review, analyze and recognize discrepancies in documents, positions descriptions, etc.;Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport, trust and effective working relationships;Think critically and strategically to make independent decisions and offer solutions;Maintain accurate and thorough records;Collaborate with System Payroll Center, Risk Management and EHS colleagues;Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing;Interpret and apply policies and procedures;Prioritize work with competing deadlines;Exhibit a high degree of professionalism and maintain confidentiality.
Comments:
Prior experience in Human Resources is preferred.SDSU is a tobacco free environment.
