Tropicana Brands Group is looking for a highly qualified Manager, FSQ – Global Food Safety & Quality to support the R&D team to ensure the company’s goals and initiatives are met. This role will be responsible for shaping the food safety and quality agenda, ensuring that Tropicana Brands Group’s internal and external manufacturing, and warehousing meet all required regulatory and company food safety and quality requirements and standards. This leader will provide FSQ coverage to internal sites, vendor, innovation, and co-man initiatives and issues. Partnering with cross-functional teams across the business network, this leader will ensure implementation of protocols, policies and programs that meet regulatory and company food safety and quality requirements while addressing opportunities and gaps in our food safety and quality execution. This leader will provide our business partners with expert guidance on daily issue-resolution, direction setting, and continual improvement of processes. Tropicana is looking for a critical thinker with exceptional communication, influencing and relationship management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.Additional Responsibilities:

Assist in the development and implementation of site food safety and quality processes and procedures to comply with Company requirements and governmental regulations; ensure execution and compliance.Provide assistance with site food safety and quality initiatives and issues, and with innovation and qualification initiatives for new product and package development and integration.Through technical stage-gate, influence the innovation agenda to ensure that food safety and quality is built into product, processing, and package design in early stages of development; partner with the R&D/PD functions to ensure design meets both regulatory and Company requirements as well as site capability.Assist with qualifying and on-boarding new contract manufacturing sites; assisting with issue resolution and optimization.Assist with vetting, qualifying, and issue resolution of vendors for both ingredient and packaging material as appropriate, working closely with the SQA team, GP, Engineering, Quality, and Operations.Assist/lead issue-resolution ensuring the CAPA process is thoroughly followed, reported on, and closed in a timely manner.Assist with food safety and quality audits to ensure requirements are met at both internal and external sites that manufacture or distribute TBG products.Serve as a food safety and quality subject matter expert by providing guidance and technical support to R&D, and Operations and Quality teams at all manufacturing sites, co-mans, vendors, and warehouse and distribution centers; share best practices.Assist in the development, execution, and ongoing improvement of food safety and quality training programs, workshops, and other resource material.Apply quality principles to detect and correct non-conforming materials or processes using modern quality problem-solving tools.Assess field capability and partner with site leadership to recognize/address gaps and areas of opportunity; coach and train site personnel to develop leadership, technical competence, and effective utilization of system tools.Build and sustain strong partnering relationships across the TBG Supply Chain, Corporate functions, and external partners at co-mans and distribution sites.Keep abreast of new regulations, advanced technologies, and best practices in food safety and quality by maintaining close relationships with peer companies, regulatory contacts, universities, and vendors; communicate as appropriate.Participate in setting strategic direction for all food safety and quality imperatives including establishment of the food safety culture within the company.Requirements:

Minimum education required: Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology, food science, engineering, or a related technical field.Minimum 10 years of experience in the food industry with demonstrated experience/achievements in food safety and quality programs and initiatives.Proven application and understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, PMO, cGMP, HACCP) into food manufacturing food safety programs.Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and Lean/Six Sigma.Demonstrated experience in food safety and quality management systems, and program development and implementation across multiple locations.Knowledge of beverage manufacturing processes: including emulsification, blending solids, blending liquids, carbonation, filling, water treatment, packaging, cleaning, and sanitation technologies.Ability to understand physical, chemical, and microbiological causes of food and water contamination and design strategies to address these risks to company products; knowledge of various pathogens and microorganisms associated with food production.Extensive expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining HACCP, Food Safety Plans, SSOPs, and SOPs in food manufacturing environments.Strong auditing and assessment skills.Excellent organizational, influence and interpersonal skills.Ability to lead positive change in processes, systems, and culture.Strong written and oral communication skills.Proven influencing skills to drive the food safety and quality agenda.Flexible and able to work under pressure to include tight deadlines and multiple projects with strong organizational skills.Benefits Overview:
