This position can be in any of our five locations: Albuquerque, Artesia, Aztec, Hobbs, Santa Fe.
Why does the job exist?
This position assists the Underground Injection Control (UIC) program of the Oil Conservation Division's (OCD) Engineering Bureau to ensure OCD goals and objectives are met. This position primarily will assist in conducting the work of the UIC program; and have the technical expertise to: help design and develop programs to address new technical issues as they arise and as technical advances in the oil and gas industry are implemented; understand and administer the UIC program for all injection wells that are related to oil and gas production within the state, including drafting grant applications; act as a alternate hearing examiner and prepare orders; write memos and conduct meetings; and process applications under the OCD Engineering Bureau's administrative permitting program.

Ideal Candidate
Degree in engineering or similar Experience in the oil and gas industry Regulatory Experience
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or Geological Engineering and six (6) years of experience in a government regulatory role including oil field experience. Substitutions apply. See Substitution Table below.
