Details Client NameMount Sinai Hospital - Staten Island Job TypeTravel OfferingNursing ProfessionRN SpecialtyOncology Job ID29269597 Job TitleRN - Oncology - Contract - MSH Weekly Pay$2703.71 Shift Details ShiftDay - 8x5 - 09AM Scheduled Hours40 Job Order Details Start Date11/11/2024 End Date02/11/2025 Duration13 Week(s) Job Description Job Title: Clinical Nurse Job Specialty: Registered Nurse Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 9 AM - 5 PM, 5x8 Hr Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: 2 years of experience required License: RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: EPIC experience highly preferred, Chemotherapy experience, Registered Nurse, Patient Care expertise Job Description: - Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care, applying the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards. - Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care management. - Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in delivering nursing care. - Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. - Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care, and delegate as appropriate. - Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease. - Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team. - Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrate the effective allocation of material resources. - Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family. - Implement process improvement strategies based on institutional, evidence-based guidelines. - Participate in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes. - Engage in quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research studies. - Demonstrate safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement. - Document in an accurate and thorough manner in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements and standards of care. - Facilitate patient throughput on a shift basis. - Advance clinical competence in nursing practice to progress from novice to expert. - Project a professional image to colleagues and communicate with styles and methods that demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, and empathy. - Encourage and demonstrate a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, life-long learning, and innovation for self and others. - Participate in shared decision-making through specialty practice councils, nursing department committees, and unit initiatives. Education: Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing preferred. Associate degree in nursing considered with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN Program. Languages: Proficient in English (Speak, Read, Write).
