Details Client NameThe Mount Sinai Hospital Job TypeTravel OfferingNursing ProfessionRN SpecialtyNeuro MS Job ID29549639 Job TitleRN - Neuro - Contract - MSH Weekly Pay$2378.6 Shift Details ShiftNight - 12x3 - 07PM Scheduled Hours36 Job Order Details Start Date01/06/2025 End Date04/05/2025 Duration13 Week(s) Job Description Job Title: Clinical Nurse Job Specialty: Neurology Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12 + 4th shift required per month, every other weekend) Guaranteed Hours: 34.50 per week Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience; 2 years of med-surg/ambulatory care experience preferred License: RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Neuro stepdown or Neuro ICU experience; Epic experience highly preferred Job Description: - Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship-Centered Care and the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational standards.- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care management.- Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning post-hospital care, and delegating to others as appropriate.- Educate patients and caregivers regarding their plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the interdisciplinary care team.- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, effectively allocating material resources.- Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and family, considering their values, preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs, and knowledge in all aspects of care.- Initiate service recovery for patients and family members who have concerns, escalating issues as needed.- Demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening through dialogue, body language, and actions.- Conduct Purposeful Hourly Rounding on assigned patients, addressing their needs.- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.- Implement process improvement strategies based on institutional and evidence-based practices.- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects and evidence-based practice activities.- Document nursing practice accurately and thoroughly to support quality and performance improvement initiatives.- Perform charge nurse duties and document accordingly, complying with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements.- Facilitate patient throughput on a shift basis.- Participate in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes.- Support the use of evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patients' perceptions of care.- Encourage and demonstrate a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, lifelong learning, and innovation for self and others.- Acquire knowledge and skills relevant to the role, patient population, clinical specialty, and local and/or global health community needs.- Participate in shared decision-making through specialty practice councils, nursing department committees, and unit initiatives.
