Job Specialty: Oncology Clinic - Urology Nursing

Shift: Days, 5x8 Hr
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience
License: Current RN License issued by the state Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association
Must-Have: Chemotherapy, Urology Nursing, Oncology, Patient Care
Job Description:
- Provide nursing care under general supervision to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders on assigned patients.- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary.- Administer medication as prescribed.- Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.- Deliver patient care competently.- Interact with family and patient to share care plans while in the hospital and during discharge.- Inform patient and family of hospital procedures.- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.- Delegate tasks to support staff.- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.- Good verbal and written communication skills.- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.- Basic computer skills.
Education:
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.- Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a Board Approved Program.
Language:
- English proficiency: Read, Write, Speak
