Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington seeks a dedicated Girl Scouts Beyond Bars (GSBB) Program Manager who shares our vision of helping Girl Scouts change the world. Girl Scouts Beyond Bars (GSBB) uses Girl Scout experiences to strengthen the familial bond between Girl Scouts and their mother, sister, grandmother, or aunt during the adult's incarceration. The program fosters positive personal and social development of Girl Scouts and their incarcerated adult, providing opportunities to learn new skills and build confidence. Ultimately, the program's goal is to reduce the impact of family separation due to incarceration. The program is delivered in Wilsonville, Oregon, at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF), the Girl Scouts Portland Service Center (PSC), and virtually. What You'll Do As the GSBB Program Manager, you'll develop, implement, and supervise the GSBB program and staff and serve as the main liaison with Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF) staff. The position ensures the Girl Scout Leadership Experience is incorporated into all GSBB program initiatives, activities, and resources and that all programs are operated according to Girl Scouts Oregon Southwest Washington (GSOSW) and Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) policies, procedures, and standards. Responsibilities Oversee recruitment, training, and supervision of GSBB program staff, interns, and volunteers. Oversee all aspects of the Girl Scouts Beyond Bars program. Design and implement ongoing, systemic program improvement. Serve as liaison and manage communications with the Department of Corrections. Negotiate yearly Memo of Understanding with the Department of Corrections. Develop and coordinate annual cookie sales for GSBB program participants. Reconcile all related accounts at the end of the sales season. Coordinate communication for the cookie program in the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. Manage the GSBB annual budget. Ensure that the program utilizes available grant funding and meets targeted GSOSW budget milestones. Work closely with fund development staff to assist with the preparation of grant proposals and compliance with grant reporting. Oversee the development of the program curriculum and evaluation. Ensure program evaluations are administered. Promote GSBB at events, public speaking engagements, and other marketing efforts. Identify potential new program partners and sponsors. Nurture all existing relationships with program partners and sponsors. Act as a consultant to and member of the Girl Scouts Beyond Bars Advisory Group. Ensure Girl Scouts is open to all eligible youths and adults by eliminating barriers to equity and inclusion. Ensure that all participants become registered Girl Scouts. Support GSBB Girl Scouts participating in GSOSW council-wide opportunities and offer participants the opportunity to continue with Girl Scouts after leaving the GSBB program. Support the transition of Girl Scouts and interested former GSBB participants into the GSBB program's Community Cohort. Develop expanded programming for all Girl Scouts impacted by the justice system. Lead recruitment of youths into virtual troop programming designed for those who have non-female incarcerated family members. Represent GSBB to internal GSOSW communities, including monthly Leadership meetings and the Program Team. Lead collaborative work with internal GSOSW communities, including the Program Team. Promote and assist with council-wide programs, activities, public relations, and fund development endeavors. Utilize the council's customer relationship management system to manage, support, and track interactions with all GSBB participants (Girl Scouts, families, program partners, and volunteers. Plan and facilitate Girl Scout programming at events and troop meetings. Supervise youth participants during activities. Drive youth program participants to activities and troop meetings using council-provided vehicles or your personal vehicle. At least eight (8) years of total relevant education and experience, including: At least two (2) years of staff supervisory experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish) - highly preferred. Experience working with and understanding issues caused by incarceration. Strong collaborator and contributor to a team environment. Computer proficiency at an intermediate level in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with proficiencies and ease in learning new applications desirable. Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, some weekends, and occasional overnight trips within our council jurisdiction. Access to reliable, personal transportation in order to travel within assigned geographic areas. Ability to transport minor members, including proof of insurance, a valid driver's license in good standing, and an acceptable driving record - highly preferred. Curriculum development for K-12 students. Strong communication skills, including verbal and written, and experience communicating with volunteers and the public in large and small groups, as well as on an individual basis. Ability to build and maintain partnerships both internally and externally. Excellent customer service skills. High level of attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to create, analyze, and present data reports. Effective time management skills. Highly developed problem-solving skills, using good judgment and sound decision-making. The Details Compensation - Exempt/salaried, starting at $60,000 - $72,000 annually, depending on qualifications. Plus, $2,600 per year for Spanish language skills at a conversational level or higher. Location - Program activities take place primarily at the Portland Service Center and Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF) in Wilsonville, Oregon. Other job duties can be performed remotely if you meet internet connectivity standards. You must live in Oregon or Southwest Washington. This role also required occasional travel, including overnight and long-distance travel. All staff are required to participate in in-person meetings, events, work assignments, and retreats, the frequency and location of which is determined by business needs.
