Our holistic approach to veterinary medicine focuses on practice legacy, team, veterinarians, patients, and community.The PositionWe are looking for a Business Development Associate to join our St. Louis-based team. This individual will report directly to the Chief Development Officer and work closely with the rest of the Business Development team to implement the acquisition strategy for CareVet. This individual will be responsible for honing their strong communication and interpersonal skills to develop warm relationships with veterinary hospital owners. With the Company's ideal acquisition profile in mind, they will conduct market research and identify and engage with potential acquisition targets. Our ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial attitude and the ability to adapt strategies as needed to drive results.Who You'll Work WithYou will collaborate with various departments, in addition to your own, such as Finance, Marketing, People and Culture, Legal, Integrations, and more, to implement effective business development plans.Specific Responsibilities Foster key relationships with acquisition targets in the deal pipeline via cold calling, networking, and other relationship building measures Coordinate in-person meetings Work with internal stakeholders to develop preferred acquisition criteria Source and screen potential acquisition targets Collaborate with Business Development Directors, Chief Business Development Officer, and Deal Quarterbacks to facilitate effective communication between buyer and seller Support Deals Team in conducting due diligence Provide valuations to assess potential acquisitions Assess the fit between the acquisition target and CareVet Present findings to Investment Committee Conduct market analysis to drive M&A activity Make recommendations based off analysis Other duties as assignedSkills and Qualifications Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, Public Relations or related field 3-5 years of professional experience in mergers and acquisitions on the buy-side Cold calling and pipeline development experience Strong ability to influence and demonstrate value to a cold lead in order to drive engagement and interest Strong sense of urgency Grit, hustle, and perseverance Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Excellent customer service skills Ability to collaborate cross-departmentallyBenefits Best-in-class medical, vision, and dental insurance Unlimited PTO Pet care stipend Phone bill reimbursement 401k with match Life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance HSA and FSA Employee assistance program with a licensed social worker on staff
