We do this by ensuring compliance with federal and state environmental laws. What we need YOU to do: The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest intern in the Division of Division of Drinking and Ground Waters in Montgomery County. Here, you're not a number. You're an asset. As a college intern, you'll receive training and orientation on various aspects of our drinking and ground waters program. You'll assist in workforce development, development of supplemental materials, track communication and outreach. Let's run back those high points. Assist in workforce development for professional operators in Ohio. Development of supplemental materials such as outreach materials (pamphlets, presentations), standard operating procedures, and guidance documents. Works with high schools, water systems, and Ohio EPA's Operator Certification team to promote workforce development Tracks communication with statewide schools to allocate training resources for prospective water professionals Assist with outreach related to capacity development and workforce development. Qualifications MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN COLLEGE DEGREE PROGRAM DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE POSITION OR HAVE RECENTLY GRADUATED WITHIN THE QUARTER/SEMESTER IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE START DATE. Major area of study: Environmental Science, Water Resources, Chemistry or Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical). Knowledge of safety practices, public relations, Agency policies and procedures and permits as applicable. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Skills in computers (word processing and database work).
