Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 What you’ll do? Join our global team as a Senior Buyer and play a key role in optimizing our supply chain on an international scale. The Sr. Buyer will create strategies that are key differentiators to the competition and enable Wilbur Curtis to maintain competitive advantage. The Sr. Buyer will apply analytical and strategic thinking skills to develop long-term sourcing strategies, execute complex sourcing activities fully in line with the category buying strategy for materials or services in any market category. Utilizing world class sourcing, tendering, negotiating and contracting tools & techniques. The Sr. Buyer will support the price risk management process and develop coverage strategies to protect the Supply Chain. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Purchasing Director in the development of regular coverage strategies and execute them against these using a full range of price risk management tools and Purchasing levers. Support and execute against the resolution of critical material shortages escalated to Purchasing Understand the entire value chain of the buying portfolio and collaborate with and challenge suppliers to continuously improve cost models Use market intelligence to formulate buying plans for parts portfolio and support the control of supply &price Risks (PPV& Availability) Under the direction of the Purchasing Director, partner with Finance to develop processes and data mining practices that measure PPV, TCO, VCA for pricing actions and arbitrage Proactively work with internal stakeholders on developing and modifying specifications that are “fit for purpose”, cost-effective and support the innovation pipeline Consistently work toward a collaborative and mutually acceptable outcome/agreements when negotiating Maintain strong business partnerships and regularly schedule vendor business meetings Proactively work with suppliers to drive efficiencies within their production process, cost model and supply chain Ensure compliance to Global Responsible Purchasing Charter A general understand hedging and the concept of commodity options and are able to execute them Initiate and support the Tendering process lever to secure RFP/RFQs to gather and benchmark supply options (TCO) Enforce contract T&Cs, hold non-compliant or vendors in violation to account What you need to be successful in this role: 5 years of effective negotiation track record Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant ERP/MRP platforms (SAP, JDE, ORACLE) with raw material Purchasing responsibilities Minimum 5 years’ Project Management experience Process Oriented Strategic thinking and active listening skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Facts $ data driven Comfortable and effective in collaborating with cross functional leaders Proficient in MS Office Suite. MS Excel is a must: pivot tables, vlookups, create benchmarking tables, cost comparative analysis, data visualization charts, Practices Continuous Improvement/LEAN principles Works well under pressure Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Must be organized, detail- oriented, and able to work independently Maintain a high degree of engagement Overview: Type of employment: full time – Exempt Workplace type: Hybrid – Montebello, CA Why SEB Professional North America?
