Job Description:

At the direction of the Dean, the Director of Executive Operations and Strategic Initiatives has the primary responsibilities of overall operational management and strategic planning at the LSU Law Center. This position plays a critical role in overseeing and managing the execution of various operations within the Law Center, while ensuring the successful completion of initiatives, collaborating with various stakeholders, and driving overall operational excellence. The Director of Executive Operations and Strategic Initiatives must be oriented to a high level of service to the Law Center and work closely with the Dean to enhance the administration of Law Center operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Law Center Administration:

Oversee the management of the Office of the Dean, including direct supervision of professional and clerical staff, development and implementation of business protocols, budget development, and maintenance of records. Serve as liaison with other University and State offices on administrative and personnel matters and provide expertise and advice to the dean, faculty, and administrators on University rules and regulations. Coordinate, implement and manage a variety of administrative activities of the Law Center as designated by the Dean. Coordinate activities between the Dean’s Office and internal and external departments, offices, and agencies. (35%)

Accreditation and Assessment:

At the direction of the Dean, coordinate, implement, and oversee Law Center planning and accreditation matters, including collection, maintenance, organization, and reporting of data to accrediting agencies, engaging in University and Law Center strategic planning, participating in training, and serving as a site coordinator for accreditation reviews. Maintain knowledge of accreditation requirements, attend conferences and training to stay informed of current issues of accreditation specific to the Law Center, and provide support and guidance to faculty and other administrators involved in accreditation activities. (30%)

Executive Support for the Dean:

Coordinate the management of administrative functions/activities of the Dean through direct discharge or delegation, including scheduling, travel, correspondence, meetings and conferences, adherence to public meeting laws, etc. (20%)

Planning and Event Management:

Oversee the scheduling, coordination, implementation, and management of the overall Law Center calendar, as well as events, and special activities administered by the Dean’s Office. Supervise staff in the discharge of duties related to event management. (10%)

Other duties as assigned. (5%)

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 7 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience and understanding of university administration. Knowledge of law school accreditation and assessment practices.
