TEX-0922-EXEMPT. The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (DPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans through the work of multiple divisions. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager in the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health Division, the Office of Childhood Hearing Manager will manage the Office of Childhood Hearing (OCH) program and operational activities, supervise, train and evaluate personnel, coordinate and monitor the work of consultants and contractors, and work with other managers, staff, and stakeholders to evaluate and implement goals, responsibilities, policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Manage the Office of Childhood Hearing (OCH) program and operational activities; supervise, train and evaluate personnel; coordinate and monitor the work of consultants and contractors; work with other managers and staff to evaluate and implement goals, responsibilities, policies and procedures. Utilize racial equity and anti-racism frameworks to address challenges and barriers clients and families face accessing equitable care and to promote health equity. Coordinate OCH community-based hearing screening services for preschool and school-aged children ages 3-14 to identify hearing deficits in Medi-Cal populations. Monitor the work of and coach subordinates to improve performance. Evaluate OCH procedures and program effectiveness and conduct quality improvement projects to implement new procedures and make program improvements. Assist in developing and implementing operational policies to ensure the efficient operation of OCH and community hearing screening programs. Oversee OCH participation in research and grant management. Participate in budget development by providing justification for proposals or initiatives. Collaborate with MCAH/DPH programs to provide city-wide audiometric training for clinics and agencies serving Medi-Cal populations. Lead collective impact efforts with community partners to promote the overall hearing health of children in San Francisco. Represent MCAH/DPH at local, state and/or national meetings related to health equity and childhood hearing. Provide direct services, including Pure Tone Audiometry and Otoacoustic Emission screening in community-based settings. Lead systems-level improvements to support families with children who have possible hearing deficits. Oversee Epic EHR documentation and reporting for OCH community-based hearing screening. Required Minimum Qualifications: Education:

Possession of a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Experience:

Three (3) years of verifiable audiometry experience, including one (1) year involving childhood hearing screening in a community or school setting. License:

Possession of a valid School Audiometrist Certification issued by California DHCS. License:

Possession of a valid California Driver License. EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION:

Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four (4) years. Note: One-year full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week). Desirable qualifications: Lived or work experience which informs or adds value to working with communities served by the Department of Public Health. Training or educational experiences in anti-racism, racial justice, health equity, and/or inclusion and belonging. Knowledge of hearing loss prevention practices and types of hearing loss. Experience providing case management support for children with possible hearing deficits. Experience with Epic Electronic Health Record. Important Note:
