San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) is dedicated to free and equal access to information, knowledge, independent learning and the joys of reading for our diverse communities. The library system includes the architecturally significant Main Library in the city’s Civic Center, 27 neighborhood branch libraries, two administrative buildings and four bookmobiles.Under general supervision, the Fleet and Logistics Manager will be responsible for developing and ensuring the continual improvement of the Library's delivery services, stockroom, and mailroom operations. This includes overseeing the fleet of the San Francisco Public Library's fleet, and managing staff and third-party services within the approximately 625,000 square feet of public and staff space comprising the Library system.The essential functions of this position include:Manages performance of delivery services and stock room staff responsible for taking and maintaining inventories of large stocks of materials, supplies, and equipment.Manages all aspects of the SFPL vehicle fleet, including but limited to regular maintenance, the processing of repair requests, and the purchasing of new vehicles and equipment.Maintains related stock forms, purchase orders, and records.Addresses problems requiring analyses of issues related to delivery services and stock room that may result in deviations from routine processes.Establishes work programs, methods, procedures, and schedules.Directs replenishment and purchasing of needed equipment, supplies, and materials.Enforces established safety regulations and procedures.Establishes working relationships with others (e.g., vendors) at similar levels within the organization.Communicates orally and in writing with subordinate staff and other department personnel necessary to ensure delivery services and stock room activities run effectively.How to qualify
Minimum Qualifications:Three (3) years of professional experience in fleet services management or storeroom operations;
ANDPossession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university;
ANDPossession of a valid California Driver’s License.Desirable Qualifications:• Ability to plan, program, execute and manage daily logistics operations.• Knowledge in developing, maintaining, and regulating policies.• Experience in fleet management.• Strong computer skills, well versed in Excel, Outlook and Teams.• Strong project management skills.• Two (2) years of supervisory experience.Important Note:
