We are looking for an experienced
Project Coordinator
to work onshore at Georgetown shore base. This position reports to:
The General Manager. Role Purpose The Project Coordinator at SBM Offshore plays a crucial role in bridging the company with its external stakeholders across both new and ongoing projects. This role is designed for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can effectively oversee and manage a diverse range of projects, ensuring their successful completion. By fostering a collaborative, secure, and enriching environment, the Project Coordinator significantly enhances the experience of all stakeholders involved. This mid-senior level position demands an individual who possesses strong leadership qualities, including decisive decision-making, the ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively, and superior communication and organizational skills. Central to this role is the commitment to uphold the integrity and performance of SBM Offshore's project operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and compliance standards, while also emphasizing project management best practices and methodologies. Key Responsibilities Contract Oversight:
Vigilantly monitor and manage the execution of projects, including any Manage and Operate Contracts with third-party contractors. This involves developing and coordinating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess contractor performance, scrutinizing deliverables, and executing corrective measures in line with contractual agreements. Expertise in contract law or legal affairs would be beneficial. Budget Management:
Take charge of the annual project budget preparation and oversight, negotiate cost modifications, initiate amendments or change orders on behalf of SBM Offshore, and monitor monthly project finances to ensure they remain within the stipulated budget. This role also involves devising and applying cost-saving strategies. Stakeholder Communication:
Utilize exceptional negotiation and diplomacy skills to manage stakeholder expectations alongside the project governance requirements. Responsibilities include the creation and distribution of communications to stakeholders, encompassing status reports, training updates, and general announcements. Document Management:
Facilitate the creation, organization, and ongoing updates of project-related documentation, templates, reports, and presentations, ensuring their accuracy and accessibility. Resource Coordination:
Direct the allocation and monitoring of SBM Offshore resources dedicated to projects, which includes personnel from support departments (such as Supply Chain, IT, HR, Facilities), materials, and financial resources. People and Facilities Management:
Provide necessary support to stakeholders, maintain accurate records, respond promptly to emergencies, and oversee any issues related to equipment or facility upkeep in collaboration with pertinent stakeholders. Quality Control:
Guarantee that all project outputs comply with the organization’s high-quality standards and regulatory requirements, including awareness of local statutory and regulatory obligations. Risk Management:
Engage in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of potential risks and issues that could affect project operations, applying a proactive and systematic approach to risk management. Meeting Logistics:
Coordinate the logistics of meetings, which includes setting up meeting spaces (both virtual and physical), issuing invitations, and documenting meeting minutes for accountability and action tracking. Reporting:
Assemble and synthesize project data for inclusion in annual reports, and contribute to the semi-annual local content report, with a particular focus on elements related to nationalization and capacity development. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Performs other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Required:
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field, providing a solid foundation in Project Management principles, business operations, and relevant industry knowledge. Preferred:
Advanced certifications in project management, such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalents. Additional Certifications in Agile, Scrum, Lean, ITIL, or specific technical areas relevant to the industry (e.g., offshore engineering, IT, supply chain management) are highly advantageous. Project Management:
A minimum of 2-5 years of direct project management experience, demonstrating capability in project planning, execution, and closure. The candidate should have a proven track record of managing projects successfully within timeline, budget, and quality specifications. Industry Knowledge:
Prior experience in the relevant industry (e.g., offshore, oil and gas, construction, IT) is highly beneficial, with specific experience in offshore engineering or oil and gas sectors considered a plus for SBM Offshore. Contractual and Financial Oversight:
Demonstrated experience in contract management and budget oversight is essential. Candidates should have experience in negotiating contracts, managing contractor relationships, and ensuring projects remain within financial boundaries. Stakeholder Management:
Proven ability in effectively communicating and engaging with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally. The candidate must be adept at balancing stakeholder expectations with project delivery requirements. Technical Proficiency:
Fluency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and competence in MS Office Suite are required. Familiarity with document management systems and collaboration tools is also expected.
