Fremont Chamber of Commerce is a dynamic organization dedicated to fostering economic growth, supporting local businesses, and enhancing the quality of life in our community. We bring together business leaders, advocates, and stakeholders to drive meaningful development and create a vibrant business environment. As our organization grows, we are seeking a visionary and driven Executive Director to lead our mission forward.
Position Summary:
The Executive Director will serve as the key representative and advocate for the Chamber, providing strategic leadership and effective management to achieve organizational goals. This position is responsible for overseeing Chamber operations, building strategic relationships, and driving initiatives that support and empower our local business community. The Executive Director will work closely with the Chamber Board, local government, businesses, and community organizations to enhance our city’s economic prosperity.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the Chamber's mission and goals. Lead advocacy efforts, championing programs that support local businesses.
Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, including staff management, budgeting, financial reporting, and organizational policies.
Community & Business Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with members, potential members, local government, and community leaders. Serve as a public spokesperson and primary liaison for the Chamber.
Financial Stewardship: Manage the Chamber’s financial health, preparing budgets, analyzing financial reports, and ensuring responsible use of resources.
Office Management: Lead a Chamber Staff that will support Chamber membership and Events.
Membership Development: Drive membership growth and retention strategies to expand and support the Chamber's network.
Event Management: Coordinate and oversee Chamber events, including networking functions, educational seminars, and community outreach programs.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a leadership role, ideally within a Chamber of Commerce, nonprofit organization, or relevant industry.
Strong understanding of business operations, economic development, and community engagement.
Proven track record of managing and supporting staff members.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including business leaders, government officials, and community members.
Experience in budgeting, financial management, and fundraising is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Compensation & Benefits:
Annual Salary Range: $60,000 to $75,000 and health stipend
