Job Summary:
The Executive Director of the Girard Area Chamber of Commerce is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the organization. This role includes strategic planning, program development, member relations, financial management, and community engagement. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors to implement the Chamber’s mission and vision, fostering a vibrant and thriving business community in the Girard area.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
Provide visionary leadership and effectively manage the Chamber's operations, staff, and volunteers.
Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the Chamber’s mission and goals.
Oversee the development and execution of programs, events, and initiatives that support local businesses and promote economic development.
Member Relations:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective members.
Develop and implement membership growth strategies.
Ensure members receive value from their membership through effective communication, support, and engagement.
Financial Management:
Develop and manage the annual budget with the Board of Directors.
Oversee financial operations, including fundraising, grant writing, sponsorships, and other revenue-generating activities.
Ensure financial stability and accountability of the Chamber.
Community Engagement:
Serve as the chamber's primary spokesperson and representative to the community, media, and other stakeholders.
Foster strong partnerships with local government, businesses, community organizations, and other key stakeholders.
Advocate for business-friendly policies and initiatives that promote the economic well-being of the Girard area.
Board Administration:
Work closely with the Board of Directors to set policies and priorities.
Prepare and present regular reports on the Chamber’s activities, financial status, and strategic progress.
Assist in the recruitment, orientation, and development of Board members.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
The Girard Area Chamber of Commerce is willing to train the correct person despite education and experience, but the following is preferred:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
Experience in a leadership role, preferably within a Chamber of Commerce, non-profit organization, or business association.
Proven experience in strategic planning, program development, and financial management
Skills & Abilities:
Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and volunteers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in using technology and social media for marketing and communication purposes.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25,000.00 - $32,000.00 per year
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
