Our client is an organization in the Madison area looking for a Lead Accounting Analyst. This company is looking for someone with 5+ years of financial reporting or public accounting experience, has a process improvement mindset, and ability to work independently and collaboratively. This position offers variety in the day-to-day, strong benefits and a flexible hybrid work environment.

The salary range for this position is $100-100k + bonus.

The Lead Accounting Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead projects and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Prepare, coordinate, supervise and review preparation of schedules, annual audited financial statements, quarterly and annual statutory statements and management reports.
  • Review and approve ledger adjustments and reconciliation.
  • Oversee procedures to support internal controls and annually reviews and updates procedures.
  • Develop extensive knowledge of statutory accounting principles.
  • Support internal and external audit staff with financial audits and operations.
  • Identify and lead process improvement department initiatives.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

The Lead Accounting Analyst will possess the following:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience. STAT experience preferred.
  • Experience in insurance industry preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including, but not limited to skills, experience level, and overall qualifications. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rule governing the program.
