About the Role

The Company is in search of an Executive Director to lead its mission of providing critical civil legal assistance to low-income individuals. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic leadership, overseeing the organization's operations, and ensuring a commitment to antiracism and equity both internally and in program work. This role involves collaborative leadership with the Board of Directors, the Deputy Director, and the Senior Leadership Team to advance the organization's impact. The ideal Executive Director will be a seasoned manager with a JD, preferably able to practice law in the relevant state, and will have a track record of success in leading values-based, legal services teams. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include managing the organization's 340 staff members, 21 offices, and legal teams, as well as maintaining strong relationships with the community and funders. The role requires a leader with deep knowledge of advocacy, social justice, and legal aid, who can champion the work of the organization both internally and externally. The candidate should be an effective communicator, with a collaborative and equity-focused leadership style, and a strategic vision for the advancement of the organization. Success in this position will demand an agile, innovative, and energetic leader with a strong commitment to shared leadership values and a deep fluency in equity. The incoming Executive Director will have the opportunity to guide the organization through a new chapter of impact, making structural, team, and programmatic advancements in alignment with the company's values.
