is assisting University of the Incarnate Word in this executive search.Position SummaryThe University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) seeks a mission-oriented, people-centered leader with the ability to work collaboratively across a complex institution as its next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.The next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs must be a leader with significant administrative experience in higher education, including at least three years of experience in a dean’s position or higher, and a demonstrated ability to advocate for a diverse set of academic disciplines. This individual must have a passion for UIW’s mission to educate men and women who will become concerned and enlightened citizens within the global community and an understanding of the Catholic Intellectual Tradition and Catholic Social Teaching. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution and an academic record suitable for appointment at the rank of full professor.Job DutiesReporting directly to the President, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is the chief academic officer of the University and oversees the integrity of all academic programs of the University. The Provost is responsible for academic strategic planning and programming; budget preparation; strategic resource allocation; institutional effectiveness/assessment; Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and program specific accreditation; evaluating associate provosts and academic deans; the overall quality of the curriculum and instruction; faculty recruitment; development activities; and sabbaticals, promotion and tenure. The Provost fosters a spirit of collaboration among all departments and the faculty in order to enhance the mission of the University and create an environment committed to student success and shared governance.QualificationsRequired Education:
Earned Doctoral Degree from a regionally accredited institution and an academic record suitable for appointment at the rank of full professor.Required Work Experience:Significant administrative experience in higher education, including at least three (3) years of experience in a dean’s position or higher, and a demonstrated ability to advocate for a diverse set of academic disciplines.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with health professions education.Work Hours:
