The School of Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Director of the Simulation Center to join their team. The School of Nursing Simulation Center is a 7500-square-foot space with 3 simulation labs, two large skills labs, 4 exam rooms, and additional debriefing spaces. Our programs provide students with the opportunity to translate theoretical knowledge into safe clinical experiences using realistic patient scenarios. POSITION PURPOSE

Reporting to the Director of Simulation, the Assistant Director is responsible for providing the operational oversight for simulation at the UW SoN Simulation Center on a day-to-day basis. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations: (60%)

Oversee all aspects of day-to-day simulation operations, including scheduling, maintenance of simulation equipment and facilities, and coordination of simulation sessions. Support the initiatives and goals of the Director of Simulation. Conduct vendor scans and stay informed about advancements in simulation technology, recommending investments and upgrades as appropriate. Coordinate the procurement, maintenance, and inventory management of simulation equipment, supplies, and technology. Oversee the scheduling and utilization of simulation rooms, equipment, and resources. Provide technical support for task trainers, manikins, AV systems, and healthcare equipment. Provide functional support in the delivery of simulation-based learning activities. Administrative: (15%)

Assist the Director of the Simulation Center in the development of policies and procedures related to simulation-based training. Ensure compliance with relevant safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Supervise and provide daily and weekly assignments of simulation staff. Participate in the hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development of simulation center staff. Fiscal: (10%)

Assist in the development and management of the simulation and education budget. Collaborate with the Director of the Simulation Center to develop and implement a multiyear strategic budget. Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: (15%)

Broad knowledge of clinical skills training and operations of simulation technology. Ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with a wide variety of individuals. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ability to carry out responsibilities in a timely, meticulous and professional manner. Ability to work well under pressure and make critical decisions. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in a health care discipline, computer technology, education, or a related field. National certification in Simulation-based Operations Specialist (CHSOS) or ability to achieve within 1 year of employment. Minimum of two years’ experience in operations in health care simulation. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience with project management practices and processes. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of data analytics processes. Background in Information Technology or experience in providing technical support of AV operating systems. Membership in state and/or national simulation initiatives and organizations. Application Process:
