The Director of Supply Chain is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the supply chain operations of Operio Group’s subsidiary companies involved in the sourcing, purchasing, and transportation of Pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical, and Food ingredients, as well as subsidiaries that procure tablet manufacturing and capsule filling machines, components, tooling, and parts.
The Director of Supply Chain will lead the efforts of the sourcing, purchasing, and logistics teams’ efforts in supporting the Operio Solid Dose business strategy. This includes but is not limited to providing the leadership and guidance to ensure the correct inventory levels of ingredients, machines, tooling, and parts are maintained to support the annual sales volume budget plan, set and remain below inventory turn goals, and exceed the gross margin goals. The sourcing, purchasing, and logistics teams will work with the marketing team to estimate future requirements by utilizing the SIOP (Sales Inventory Operating Planning) process.
The Director of Supply Chain will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO).
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement supply chain strategic and tactical strategies that align with the overall corporate objectives and drive business growth.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure the quality and reliability of supplies along with locking in market competitive payment terms by utilizing the Supplier Performance Review process.
Manage inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while ensuring product availability to meet production requirements, customer demands, and the sales budget. Inventory level goals will be based on the annual budget and defined for each subsidiary company.
Oversee domestic and international transportation logistics, optimizing routes and carrier partnerships to minimize costs and delivery times.
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop accurate demand forecasts and inventory planning utilizing the monthly cycle SIOP process that will used to set demand levels in the MRP tool.
Identify cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain and implement continuous process improvements that yield cost-effective solutions for the overall business.
Mitigate supply chain risks by identifying potential disruptions and developing contingency plans.
Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement which are in alignment with Operio Corporate values.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including those specific to the pharmaceutical and food industries.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of progressive supply chain management experience, with at least 5 years in a successful leadership role.
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and food supply chain practices and regulations.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in supply chain software and technology.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make strategic decisions.
Pay:
$120,000 - $140,000 based on education, experience, and skills.
