Job Description
The Sr. Material Handler will be responsible for receipt of incoming materials, including data processing. This position will stock material locations, and verify and inspect for conformance to specifications, comparing quantity and part number of items received with Purchase Order data to ensure completeness and accuracy of order receipts. This position is also responsible for the timely processing, coordination, and communication of export and import of orders. This also includes processing, scheduling, and coordination of all domestic and international shipments, including invoicing, documentation, and transportation. Will multitask and prioritize while resolving customer issues in a timely manner.
In addition, participates in continuous improvement activities, shipping & receiving, freight management, and inventory management processes to improve planning and execution of orders to enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: Print, kit and process work orders and deliver to the manufacturing floor Perform receiving activities related to inventory data transactions and verifying products to the purchase order. Label, bag, and stock received material Collect, analyze, and verify shipping documentation meets legal requirements for Global Trade Compliance, including, but not limited to, harmonized tariff classifications, country of origin determination, export license applications, acquiring and reviewing end use statements for exports, and sanctioned party list screening. Routes shipments via customer request and contacts appropriate carrier to meet customer requirements. Loading and unloading of material and physical transfer to and from inventory locations. Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications, including identification of potential Non-conforming materials. Adheres to all safety procedures. Assists management or drives resolution of problems concerning over shipments, shortages, engineering changes and cancellation of orders. Work with the procurement team and planners to resolve PO and invoice errors for on time payment. Participates in cycle count program and kitting of work orders Process improvement Spare repairs processing Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Minimum High School Diploma or GED Strong multitasking skills Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Minimum of 2 years' experience in shipping, receiving, and general warehouse activities in an ISO9001 manufacturing environment, including preparation of shipping and receiving documentation and data processing activities using ERP applications (QAD preferred). Will work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment. Must possess an understanding of OSHA safety rules for warehouse work Will obtain and maintain a forklift certification Will be physically capable of opening crates and other large containers using hand tools, unpack items received, and can lift up to 40 pounds at a time unassisted.
Compensation and Benefits The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $20.23-$30.34.
