Material Handler We are searching for an experienced Material Handler at our Portland, OR facility. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Senneca Holdings is seeking an organized anddetail-oriented Shipping Operator to manage the daily operations ofour shipping and receiving department. In this role, you will be responsiblefor the accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments,maintaining inventory records, and ensuring that all shipping activities areconducted in compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing lists, and other documentation. Accurately log all received items into the inventory management system and notify appropriate departments of arrivals. Prepare and package outgoing shipments, including labeling, documentation, and coordination with carriers. Ensure that all outgoing shipments meet customer specifications and company quality standards. Coordinate with internal departments, including production, purchasing, and customer service, to ensure timely and accurate shipments. Maintain organized records of all shipping and receiving activities, including tracking numbers, carrier information, and delivery confirmations. Perform regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including proper handling of hazardous materials. Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to shipping or receiving, including damaged goods or incorrect shipments. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse role. Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management software. Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 50 pounds) and operate material handling equipment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret shipping documentation and follow written instructions. Desired Qualifications: Certification in forklift operation is a plus. Experience with ERP or inventory management systems. Familiarity with international shipping procedures and documentation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Competencies: Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in receiving and shipping processes, preventing errors in inventory and documentation. Organizational Skills: Effectively manages time and resources to maintain efficient shipping and receiving operations. Problem-Solving: Quickly identifies and resolves issues related to shipments, including handling discrepancies and damaged goods. Team Collaboration: Works effectively with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely shipments. Safety Awareness: Committed to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety protocols. Travel Requirements: Travel is not typically required for this position. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy items for extended periods.
