Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
to join our Urgent Care team. This role is ideal for a quick-thinking, adaptable CMA who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about providing excellent patient care. As a member of the Urgent Care team, you will support healthcare providers in delivering efficient, high-quality care to patients. Key Responsibilities: Assist healthcare providers with patient assessments, procedures, and treatments. Record patient histories, symptoms, and vital signs accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Prepare and stock exam rooms, ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready for use. Administer medications and injections as ordered by providers. Perform basic lab work, including blood draws, urinalysis, and point-of-care testing. Educate patients on discharge instructions, medication guidelines, and follow-up care. Assist with patient calls and manage patient flow efficiently. Maintain compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) diploma from an accredited program or apprenticeship track. Current national certification. Current CPR/BLS certification. Previous experience in urgent care, emergency care, or a fast-paced clinical setting is preferred. Why UnityPoint Health?
