About the Job
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic medical-surgical team at a top-tier healthcare facility in Birmingham, AL. This is a contract position for a duration of 3 months, with the opportunity to work in a busy post-operative unit that handles general surgery and thoracotomy patients. The position requires the ability to manage and care for up to 5-6 patients during 12-hour night shifts, and it is a great opportunity for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact in patient care.

- Higher compensation for non-local candidates: $44.18 per hour (including a $16/hr per diem)

What youll be doing:
- Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans
- Serve as the primary coordinator of care for post-operative patients, ensuring well-coordinated treatment across all disciplines
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate
- Carry out physician and nursing orders efficiently
- Facilitate discharge planning and collaborate with the healthcare team
- Provide support in a fast-paced, post-op surgical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:6
Requirements:
- Valid RN license with experience in medical/surgical nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- 1-3 years of experience in a medical/surgical setting
- Ability to provide two professional references
- U.S. work authorization (Green Card or U.S. Citizenship)
