POSITION SUMMARY:
The Athletics Coordinator oversees athletics leagues for Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, including maintaining positive work relationships with the volunteers and participants that they recruit, train, and retain, with a particular emphasis on the Ballers Program.
The Athletics Coordinator is responsible for the organization and efficiency of day-to-day athletics operations, including administrative needs, such as sign-ins, and directing flow of children and parents, as well as conducting sports camps during summer programming and monitoring the DWR gym. The Athletics Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining safety and professionalism at all league or program events, and for encouraging participation and sportsmanship.
The Athletics Coordinator oversees the training and assignments of coaches and referees, but does not supervise or manage performance of any other athletic program personnel, staff or otherwise.
During the eight-month Ballers program, this position will be scheduled Monday through Friday 5pm to 9pm and Saturdays from 8am to 11am. During the four-month off-season, this position will be scheduled from 4pm to 9:30pm.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Six (6) months experience working in a childcare or school setting planning and supervising youth and teen activities required.
- Experience with or knowledge of youth sports highly preferred.
- Develop comprehensive marketing plan to recruit volunteer coaches and potential players leagues, including but not limited to Junior Giants and Ballers.
- Facilitate all volunteer coaches' interviews, processing in Paycom, BGCA orientations, and team assignments.
- Manage all volunteer head and assistant coaches.
- Provide all volunteers with mandatory trainings on all BGCTM and league/program expectations and procedures.
- Conduct parent orientation meetings, going over all aspects of expectations and participation.
- Implement the schedules and communicate times, dates, courts, and all changes and cancellations to the volunteers and families.
- Communicate monthly information to players, parents, and volunteers through monthly bulletin and ongoing emails, as needed.
- Develop and implement schedules, including tournament schedule.
- Coordinate with site vendors, including tournament reservations, submitting purchasing orders, and requesting funds at least two weeks before each event.
- Resolve player and parent/player issues that cannot be resolved at the team level with coaches, seeking support from Athletics Director, as necessary.
- Order uniforms, player spirit packs, and game balls.
- Maintain all inventory.
- Meet with DWR Membership Coordinator bi-weekly to ensure every player is in ClubHub as a member, including annual membership and monthly payments.
- Process quarterly grade checks, as needed, and administer the Ballers All-Academic Team.
- Work with all volunteers, coaches, and players to ensure all gyms are cleaned after every practice/event.
- Develop, organize, and implement Ballers home basketball tournament, including recruiting teams from out of state.
- Schedule picture days.
- Ensure program safety protocols are maintained.
- Plan and organize Family Day event.
- Organize and implement afternoon free summer sports clinics at DWR.
- Attend regular meetings with Athletics Director and Clubhouse Director.
- Fill in for other areas at the request of Athletics Director and VP of Business Operations.
Qualifications
CERTIFICATIONS/ASSOCIATIONS:
- Due to insurance requirements, must be 21 years of age or older with at least five years of driving history and a clean driving record.
- After hire, will receive mandatory paid on-line and in-person training, including Safety Skills, CPR/First Aid, etc.
- After hire, will be registered with Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

- Must be able to perform duties which require walking, talking, hearing, standing, sitting, bending for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to kneel, run and/or climb.
- Must be able to use hands and arms to enter data into the computer, use the telephone and other office equipment
- Must be able to lift, move manipulate and or hold objects up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45-pound weight limit, require additional assistance when moving, lifting or manipulating.
