The Department of Administration, Division of Personnel & Labor Relations is recruiting for a Human Resource Technician 1 in Juneau!

What You Will Be Doing:The Division of Personnel & Labor Relation's Classification Section is seeking a positive and dedicated individual to join our team of technicians to provide direct technical services for processing and auditing documents within human resource information systems for Classification Services. We are looking for individuals with a strong attention-to-detail focus and work ethics. The ideal candidate will be exposed to and work in multiple information technology applications as well as Microsoft Office related products.

The Operations Team uses technology to update, correct, process, and maintain position human resource information. If selected, you will be trained to operate two primary human resource applications: Online Position Description (OPD) system and the Integrated Resource Information System - Advanced (IRIS-ADV); and expected to eventually master the use of them for assigned job duties.

Classification Services provides consultation and expertise in job analysis while administering fair and equitable job classification and pay structures to support the State of Alaska's civil service.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:This position will be filled in Juneau. Juneau-based Classification staff work in the State Office Building, located in the heart of downtown Juneau and offer ample access to nearby amenities. The daily work involves continuous and routine data entry to ensure human resource systems are accurate.

This position offers a hybrid telework and is required to work in the office a minimum of two 8-hour workdays each week.

You will interact with clients and team members in an office setting, over the phone, and in a digital environment. This includes using Microsoft Office/365 applications such as Teams, SharePoint, Word, and Excel, as well as Workplace Alaska, IRIS, and Aspire Alaska.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or the equivalent and six months of advanced clerical experience.

Substitution:

Six months of postsecondary education (16 semester hours or 24 quarter hours from an accredited college or university equals six months) in any field may substitute for the specific experience.

Special Note:

High school graduation "equivalent" means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D (i.e. passing the General Educational Development test).; 2) completion of any basic adult education course of 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 hours per week); 3) six months of work experience performing duties related to office or clerical support; 4) twelve months of work experience involving some routine tasks related to office or clerical support; 5) highest grade of school completed plus any kind of work experience that totals 12 years or more; or 6) acceptance for admission in full standing by an accredited college or university.

Additional Required Information

At the time of the interview, please ensure that you provide the following materials:
  1. Three (3) professional references, including current and former supervisors current daytime phone numbers.
  2. A copy of your two (2) most recent performance evaluations.
