Description
Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Deputy Program Manager to join our team supporting the Persistent Surveillance Portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills and experience leading a team of engineers. As the Deputy Program Manager, you will work closely with the Program Manager to ensure the successful execution of the program, meeting all technical, schedule, and cost objectives.

Must be a US citizen, possess and be able to maintain a DoD secret clearance.
Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.
Preferred Qualifications
Pay Range: Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills and experience leading a team of engineers. As the Deputy Program Manager, you will work closely with the Program Manager to ensure the successful execution of the program, meeting all technical, schedule, and cost objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the Program Manager in the day-to-day management of the program.
- Coordinate and oversee project activities, ensuring they align with program
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Monitor program performance and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project success.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including DoD clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Support the development and execution of risk management plans.
- Prepare and present program status reports and briefings to senior management and DoD clients.
- Ensure compliance with DoD regulations, policies, and procedures.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience in the defense industry.
- Proven experience in prototype development, test and support equipment development and operations and maintenance.
- Strong technical background, with knowledge of engineering and manufacturing principles.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage complex projects, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in risk management, including the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to the project.
- Experience working with government contracts and regulations.
Must be a US citizen, possess and be able to maintain a DoD secret clearance.

- Experience working on a radar program.
- Deep understanding of defense acquisition process.
