DescriptionTyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is seeking a Controller to join our team in the logistics industry, based in Fresno, California. This role involves overseeing and executing all aspects of accounting, financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. The Controller will also be responsible for budgeting, tax compliance, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.Responsibilities• Oversee and perform all aspects of accounting, billing, financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.• Coordinate and administer an adequate plan for the control of financial reports, including maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and operations.• Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for the company including month end journal entries, account analysis, budgets, and forecasts.• Oversee and ensure payments of all accounts are paid on time.• Oversee and monitor collection procedures and payments.• Control and monitor the company’s fixed asset system to assure that assets are properly recorded and safeguarded.• Execute and monitor cash disbursements and funding balances for payment of company expenditures in accordance with disbursement policies.• Work with outside consultants, tax preparers, and auditors as necessary to complete required filings and reports.• Comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.• Perform other duties as assigned by reporting manager.• Review financial statements.• Oversee and review financial statements with CPA.• Coordinate directly with bank institutions to verify account status.Requirements• Must possess skills in Month End Close operations• Should be proficient in Financial Statement Preparation• Expected to have knowledge in Budgeting and Forecasting• General Ledger management skills are necessary• Must be capable of conducting Financial Reporting• Prior experience in the logistics industry is advantageous• Controller job function experience is preferred• Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required• Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite is expected• Should have a strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation• Must be able to work effectively in a team and individually• Attention to detail and accuracy in work is essential• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively is required• Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or related field is preferred• Professional certification such as CFA, CPA, CMA, or similar is beneficial.For more information contact Tyler Houk at (559)421-1831Job typePermIndustryLogistics
