Job Summary:
As the HR Generalist, you will oversee all facets of human operations and safety within the organization. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring workplace safety, recruiting, retention, and employee development. You will be tasked with enhancing talent acquisition strategies, overseeing HR initiatives, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The HR Generalist is crucial in promoting a safe and positive work environment, as well as supporting the professional growth and development of our workforce.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Department Leaders: Address unique employee needs and challenges effectively.
- Lead Safety Initiatives: Head the safety committee and conduct monthly safety meetings and training sessions.
- Ensure Compliance: Work with an HR Consultant to adhere to labor laws, EEO regulations, and other mandates.
- Develop Hiring Strategies: Create and implement strategies to attract and hire top talent.
- Manage Recruitment Process: Oversee job descriptions, postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding/offboarding.
- Conduct Background Checks: Perform reference checks, extend job offers, and maintain a talent pool for future needs.
- Oversee Onboarding/Offboarding: Manage the onboarding process for new hires and offboarding for departing employees, including exit interviews.
- Handle Employee Relations: Act as the primary contact for employee concerns, resolve disputes, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ensure Policy Compliance: Work with the HR Consultant to update policies, handle workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and NEOC cases, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate Performance Management: Lead weekly discussions on staffing needs and monitor team attendance.
- Compensation and Benefits: Oversee and manage the company's compensation and benefits programs to ensure they are competitive, compliant, and effectively administered.
- A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a HR Generalist or Talent Acquisition or a comparable HR role.
- Comprehensive understanding of labor legislation and HR best practices.
- Exceptional skills in recruitment and talent acquisition.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Proficient in resolving problems and mediating conflicts.
- Skilled in HR software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Committed to maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities.
