SUMMARY

The Procurement Specialist plays a vital role in the Supply Chain department, collaborating closely with cross functional management and other team members. Their primary responsibility is to support efficient procurement processes and ensure timely completion of purchasing tasks. This role involves working closely with leadership, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to maintain smooth operations. The Junior Buyer also assists in strategic manufacturing partner relations and contributes to overall company procurement efforts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Negotiates prices and contracts with indirect and some direct suppliers
  • Researches and evaluates vendors to compare pricing and services
  • Maintains general industry knowledge of products, commodities and indirect items, providing input on purchasing decisions
  • Reviews Invoices for accuracy
  • Creates and maintains supply chain metrics and leads continuous improvement projects
  • Maintains external supplier relationships while reporting against KPI's
  • Oversee indirect vendor relationships to ensure timely deliveries, expediting when required
  • Selects prospective vendors and negotiates contracts
  • Travels to supplier locations if warranted
  • Stays current with purchasing trends and assists with maintaining current procurement tools
  • Maintains records of supplier contracts
  • Other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or higher required in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field
  • 1-3 years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management, purchasing, inventory, or operations
  • Familiarity in MRP/ERP Systems
  • Proficiency in Excel
