Description

Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group produces live-themed events across multiple genres in 15 states. We seek a hands-on, skilled, motivated Assistant Controller to join our team.

This position will be eligible for the company's benefits and competitive PTO. In-office role - with one day per week from home.

Responsibilities:
  • Manages staff through the Payables and Receivables cycles, ensuring timely and accurate recording of all transactions.
  • Ensures revenue is recorded in accordance with GAAP while managing several different POS and ticketing systems.
  • Works with the Controller to enhance monthly close and reporting cycles.
  • Lead the creation of annual budget, as well as analyze variance from budget monthly.
  • Records and maintains fixed asset transactions in fixed asset system, including those with internal labor components.
  • Builds solid communication with regional operators to understand business needs, respond to any questions, and ensure controls are followed.
  • Maintains all balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Interfaces with and manages external accounting firm through the annual audit and tax preparation processes.
  • Works with HR Manager to ensure accurate payroll expenses and accrual are recorded.
  • Works with financial analyst for monthly reporting packets and quarterly board materials preparation.
  • Assist with ad hoc requests and analysis as needed.
Qualifications

Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Experience with multi-unit, live entertainment and/or retail
  • Hands-on accounting including creation and booking of manual Journal Entries
  • Solid understanding of GAAP.
  • Critical thinking and ability to analyze, not just produce financial results.
  • Ability to successfully interface many other backgrounds and skill sets.
  • Attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5-10 years' experience in accounting/finance.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements.
