Workday Time and Attendance Consultant (Absence & Time Tracking)
Resiliency LLC, New York, NY
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Workday Time and Attendance Consultant with expertise in Absence Management and Time Tracking to support the implementation and migration of absence and time tracking plans.
This role requires hands-on experience with configuring accruing and non-accruing time off plans, managing work schedules, and ensuring compliance with payroll integration during system cutovers.
The consultant will lead efforts to align legacy systems with Workday's modern functionalities and ensure smooth data transfer for both absence and time-tracking workflows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Absence Management:
Absence Plan Configuration: Recreate and configure 11 biweekly absence plans and 7 accrue-as-you-go plans with 3 accruing plans and 1 zero-accrual plan, ensuring they comply with business requirements.
Accrual Migration: Lead the migration of accruing plans, ensuring that balances are accurately loaded from legacy systems.
Inactivation of Old Plans: Ensure that legacy absence plans are inactivated with effective dates closely aligned to the cutover schedule.
Data Transfer & Clean-up: Handle bulk corrections for time off entries (2,088 entries for accruing plans and 3,878 total time offs), adjusting old time offs to zero and entering new data accordingly.
Maintenance of Accrue-as-You-Go Plans: Oversee the continued maintenance of accrue-as-you-go plans, ensuring schedule periods are regularly updated.
Time Tracking:
Work Schedule Implementation: Design and configure a new work schedule with the appropriate start date and ensure it aligns with payroll processing needs.
Cutover Management: Manage the complexities of payroll overlapping and break periods caused by new work schedule assignments during the cutover period. This includes ensuring overtime calculations for sub-periods are accurate.
Testing & Validation: Conduct iterative testing to ensure that the work schedules, payroll integration, and time tracking processes align with business needs.
Timesheet Configuration: Ensure the correct timesheet visual representation and calculations during cutover periods.
General:
Data Migration & Integrity: Ensure data integrity throughout the transition, loading balances and aligning historical data as needed.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with HR, payroll, and IT teams to ensure all absence and time-tracking configurations meet business needs.
Post-Cutover Support: Provide support post-cutover, resolving issues and providing training as needed for both absence management and time tracking modules.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in information systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related experience
Workday Expertise: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Workday Time Tracking and Absence Management, specifically with accruing/non-accruing time-off plans and work schedules.
