Job Summary:
The Assistant Controller is a key part of our Accounting team. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, you'll be responsible for managing various general accounting functions, assisting with monthly financial close, improving processes across AR, AP, contributing to management reporting efforts, and fostering collaboration across different departments.

Job Summary:
The Assistant Controller is a key part of our Accounting team. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, you'll be responsible for managing various general accounting functions, assisting with monthly financial close, improving processes across AR, AP, contributing to management reporting efforts, and fostering collaboration across different departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and consolidated.
- Maintain and oversee the implementation and integrity of the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and coding of financial transactions.
- Perform monthly reconciliations on all balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to support the audit process.
- Continuously assess and enhance accounting processes and procedures to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.
- Assist with tax-related matters, including the preparation of sales tax filings and ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations.
- Collaborate closely with the finance team, senior management, and cross-functional departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
- Stay current with accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and share knowledge with the finance team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience with 3+ years of management experience
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, and Expense management processes
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, including ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and experience in optimizing accounting processes through automation.
