Responsibilities

Conference Assistants (CAs) will assist University Housing staff by serving as liaisons between conference guests. CAs will demonstrate an investment in the overall customer service experience the front desk provides to each conference guest. The CAs in essence are the "face" of Conference Services, managing many day-to-day functions that are crucial to the success of camps and conferences.

CAs are responsible for all administrative tasks, customer service, communication, and safety and security that occurs in the halls. The position will assist conference guests with check-in and check-outs, completing room checks prior to guest arrival, provide linen services, submitting maintenance requests, issues, and concerns during their shifts, and responding to emergencies that require leadership and guidance.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency and a cumulative FSU grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 undergraduate or 3.0 graduate cumulative at time of application and employment.

Must be in good conduct standing with the University.

Other Information

Conference Assistants must participate in a training program prior to their employment. Training is mandatory and will occur May 12-16, 2025 . If there is a change in dates, applicants will be notified during their interview or prior to employment.

Ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent customer service skills, have the ability to make decisions autonomously, be organized, detail-oriented, communicate efficiently and effectively, and maintain a positive attitude while working with others.

Anticipated Salary Range

The anticipated starting salary for this position is $13.00 per hour.

Considerations

This is an OPS/temporary job.

Based on the duties, this position may require completion of a criminal history background check .

Work availability: the entire summer (mid-May - early to mid-August)

This position must work at least 15 hours per week (with the possibility of up to 35 hours per week)

This position must work three (3) different shifts per pay period (day, overnight, and weekend shift)
