Senior Financial Reporting Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Senior Financial Reporting Specialist
to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting management in strategic decision-making. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, a deep understanding of financial reporting standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting : Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards. Assist in the preparation of SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, and other regulatory reports, if applicable. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
Compliance and Regulations : Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations, and assess their impact on financial reporting. Ensure compliance with all internal and external reporting requirements.
Analysis and Reconciliation : Perform detailed financial analyses and provide insights into the organization's financial performance. Reconcile and review general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial reporting processes. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to ensure data integrity.
Collaboration : Work closely with other finance team members, including accounting, FP&A, and tax teams, to ensure alignment of financial data. Provide financial expertise to cross-functional teams and support strategic initiatives.
Systems and Tools : Maintain and enhance reporting systems and tools, ensuring they meet business and compliance needs. Leverage advanced Excel, ERP, or financial software for reporting efficiency.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
Experience : 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or a related role. Prior experience in public accounting or a publicly traded company is a plus.
Skills and Knowledge : Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and SEC reporting requirements. Proficiency in financial systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or Workday. Advanced Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables, macros, and complex formulas. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Competencies : Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
