Special Project Coordinator (Community Developer 3A) position, grade A24, in the Behavioral Health Services/Local Behavioral Health Authority.

About the Position

This is a senior level position that serves as coordinator of special projects within the LBHA, managing and overseeing various initiatives aimed at improving the provision of behavioral health services, supports best practices, monitors services, programs, and behavioral health providers in the Prince George's County Public Behavioral Health system to assure the provision of effective and efficient quality behavioral health services. Program monitoring consists of scheduled and unscheduled visits and interviews with providers and clients, housing inspections, client team meetings, Office of Health Care Quality licensing visits, analysis of service utilization data, promotion of continuity of care and collaboration with the Administrative Services Organization for Maryland.

The PGCHD works to protect and support the public's health through numerous services that range from restaurant inspections and disease tracking to care coordination and health promotion. The department is composed of four divisions: Behavioral Health Services, Environmental Health and Disease Control, Family Health Services, and Health and Wellness, supported by the Office of Administration, Office of Human Resources and the Office of the Health Officer. The mandate of the department has been, and will remain, broad. This plan emphasizes improving core functions and operations, including protecting the public from health threats, implementing strategies to support healthy living, and maintaining a focus on vulnerable populations, while developing efficient internal processes to support these activities. Examples of Work

Assists in the development of standards and procedures regulating the provision of services and ensures compliance with them. Prepares and submits special project reports as required by local government and grant agencies describing program activities and accomplishments, as well as any unmet needs within the Public Behavioral Health System (PBHS) Completes minimum program monitoring and evaluation site visits per schedule. Conducts scheduled and if determined necessary, unscheduled, program site monitoring visits to evaluate regulatory compliance and quality assurance standards. Performs housing inspections in accordance with ACT housing guidelines. Conducts investigations of complaints and prepares written report of resolution using LBHA procedures established for investigations. Prepares accurate and timely reports upon request and when assigned by the LBHA Manager. Determine service needs, gaps, and barriers within the Prince George's County Public Behavioral Health System in collaboration with LBHA staff and county and state providers. Provides relevant technical assistance, training to consumers, family members and providers, upon request or when assigned by the LBHA Manager. Performs other tasks and duties which may not be specifically listed in the class specification or position specification or position description, but which are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work willingly and cooperatively. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or public administration, social services, sociology, psychology, or related field; plus Two (2) years of responsible community development supervisory work. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Possess experience in the behavioral health field, project planning, coordination and monitoring of services, and other State mandated programs. Experience working with Assertive Community Treatment, In-Home Intervention Program for Children, and residential programming.

General Plan Information:

The Prince George's County benefits plan year is from January 1 to December 31.

A spouse (to include a same sex spouse) can be added to the health benefit plans. A marriage certificate and social security number is required to add a spouse.

Children under the age of 26 are eligible for coverage under the health benefit plans. This includes stepchildren and children of the same-sex spouse. A birth certificate(s) and social security number(s) is required to add a child(ren). If you are only adding the stepchildren or child(ren) of a same-sex spouse, you will need to submit a marriage certificate. You will also need to submit the birth certificate of the child(ren) and your spouse must be listed as a parent.

The premiums for health benefits are deducted on a pre-tax basis with the exception of Long-Term Disability, Extra Life Insurance and Voluntary Benefits (Short-Term Disability, Whole Life Insurance, Critical Illness, Accident Insurance, Cancer Indemnity, Hospital Indemnity Protection, Accident Indemnity Plan, Supplemental Dental and Group Legal Services).

New employees must enroll in the County's health benefit plans within thirty (30) days of the hire date.

The effective date of the health benefits coverage is the

beginning of the month following a waiting period of forty-five (45) days from the date of hire.

After enrolling in the County's benefit plans, employees may only make changes to the plans either during the open enrollment period, which occurs annually (usually each October), and/or during the year, due to a family status change (i.e., marriage, births, divorce and adoption).
