Department of Revenue is recruiting for an Appeals Coordinator (Compliance Specialist 3) position. We are looking for talented, detail-oriented individuals to join our Business Division in the Corporation/Estate Section, Policy Appeals and Nexus Unit. This position is headquartered in our Salem office; however, the successful candidate may be eligible for in state hybrid work. Hybrid work consists of performing duties onsite in a standard office environment and working remotely.

t You Will Be Doing
Below is a sampling of job duties. It is not meant to encompass all duties. Acts as a liaison between the tax attorneys at DOJ and the division concerning litigation, provides research on technical issues, establishes excellent communication about cases, and discusses case strategy with manager. Coordinates the appeals function for corporation cases at the Magistrate and Regular Divisions of the Oregon Tax Court and the Oregon Supreme Court. Assists DOJ by examining case documentation received from opposing counsel and reviews legal documents drafted by the AAG(s). On cases not represented by DOJ, negotiates settlement offers with taxpayers or their representatives and drafts closing agreements for manager review. For a complete position description click here

This Is What You Need To Qualify
Five years experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action, or decide compliance or eligibility with program guidelines and regulations. Three of the five years must be above the technical support level. (Note: some positions may require experience in a specific regulatory industry or program) College-level course work may substitute for experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year, up to a maximum of three years. Some Positions May Require: A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration and two years of the specified experience

If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%.
