Peraton is seeking a

Senior AWS Cloud Architect

to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This individual is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to understand business requirements, developing cloud strategies, and ensuring the scalability, security, and reliability of the cloud infrastructure. The AWS Cloud Architect will also lead the migration of existing systems to the AWS cloud and provide guidance on best practices and standards. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/ Transportation Security Administration (TSA) customer.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of cloud architectures in AWS.

Develop and maintain cloud migration strategies, ensuring a smooth transition from on-premises or hybrid environments to the AWS cloud. Architect cloud solutions that align with business objectives, ensuring performance, and compliance with industry standards and best practices. Oversee the implementation and management of AWS cloud infrastructure services Design and implement multi-region, multi-account AWS architecture for disaster recovery and high availability. Optimize cloud environments for performance through monitoring, automation, and scaling strategies. Design and implement AWS security frameworks, including monitoring tools, threat detection, and vulnerability management. Establish monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure the health, performance, and availability of cloud services. Conduct performance testing and optimization of cloud services to ensure applications meet business SLAs and KPIs. Continually assess and improve cloud infrastructure to align with business growth and changing technologies .

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance. Bachelor's degree and 12 years' experience or Master's degree and 10 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 16 years' experience. Proven experience in designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions. Experience with cloud migration projects and automation tools. Strong understanding of AWS services and tools, including EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation, etc. Proficiency in cloud security best practices and compliance standards. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Certification required (Associate or Professional).

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
