Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a highly skilled lead cloud architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be working 100% remote and will focus on cloud architecture and design across a multi-account multi-environment enterprise cloud offering. A candidate in this position will work as part of an enterprise cloud services team and oversee the design of a scalable, secure, and resilient cloud environment. The candidate responsibilities will include strategy, managing cloud projects, ensuring security and compliance, and evaluating cloud services, tools, and technologies. The lead cloud architect's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Leadership Role Lead the cloud architecture team and manage the cloud architecture projects and priorities.
Understand the scope of tasks and manage the prioritization and implementation of the tasking for cloud architecture Communicate project status, issues, and concerns effectively with leadership and IT partners Collaborate with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of systems and determine priority of needs. Technical Role Utilize expert knowledge of cloud technologies and current trends to identify cloud architecture solutions with an emphasis in AWS technologies. Apply an enterprise view of cloud and develop strategy and designs and have a willingness to branch out into multiple cloud disciplines. Identify and design strategy and solutions to meet Federal Cybersecurity mandates Conduct architectural reviews and assessments for adherence to cloud best practices and cloud standards and governance Define and maintain cloud standards, patterns, and governance for enterprise cloud offerings Evaluate and operationalize cloud services, tools, and technologies. Develop and maintain cloud security strategies, including compliance monitoring and management.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: BS/BA degree with 12 years' relevant experience preferred Five (5) years of experience preferred in cloud technologies including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or other public cloud services with an emphasis on AWS experience Experience leading a team of strong technical talent and effectively leveraging team member strengths Experience developing enterprise cloud governance, standards, and/or strategy Enterprise architecture experience in an AWS multi-account multi-environment cloud architecture Experience creating architecture artifacts, design documents, and other formal documentation Experience decomposing customer requirements and propose appropriate architectural solutions Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated cloud reports to management and other IT partners and management An active Public Trust or the ability to obtain a public trust. Must be a US Citizen Preferred Qualifications: AWS Solution Architect Professional Microsoft Azure Certification Experience in hybrid cloud environment including operating public and private cloud technologies Experience designing highly availability infrastructure in AWS and Azure

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
