PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: The Staff Accountant III is primarily responsible for managing daily financial transactions and tasks related to all facets of the Operation, and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the ERP and other company systems consistent with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and corporate ethics, goals, and objectives. A proficient level of accounting, business experience and judgment are required to plan and accomplish goals. Performance of responsibilities is expected to be completed on an accurate and timely basis, and with minimal supervision.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares and ensures accuracy and integrity of accounting and transactional records to ensure proper financial reporting
Processes and maintains assigned ad hoc or recurring journal entries in a timely and accurate manner
Reviews accounting policies and procedures and recommends modifications
Assists in the month-end closing procedures
Prepares correspondence and documents and completes special projects
Compiles and prepares financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Audits, analyzes and approves accounting transactions for accuracy and compliance with GAAP
Maintains financial databases with servicing and / or collateral information
Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; analyzes accrual accounts to ensure proper accruals
Prepares bank account, general ledger, and petty cash reconciliations and conducts periodic audits of petty cash funds
Researches, collects and analyzes financial data for submission of required reporting
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Positive attitude and customer service mindset with a strong work ethic
Strong communication and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Self-starter who can work independently and execute projects efficiently
Able to work hands on within the various departments of the organization and communicate effectively up the chain of command
High attention to detail
Must be able to set priorities and demonstrate sound judgement in handling problems
Must be extremely well organized and demonstrate exceptional financial and time management skills
Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and other professionals
Experience with Deltek preferred
