The
PDC Manager
directly oversees all aspects of the facility, including following all safety and operation policies, cleanliness, inventory control, product integrity and equipment management. The PDC Manager directs and leads their team of transport, tank wagon, DEF and lube drivers, technicians, warehouse employees and/or marine terminal operators. The PDC Manager also oversees any associates and visitors that may come onsite to make sure they are versed in WKC safety protocols and abide by them. The PDC Manager will work with the procurement group to assure sufficient inventory of lube products, if applicable and to discharge aged (dead stock) items in a timely regard. They will manage the commercial tanks, making sure work orders are provided and each tank is prepared properly before leaving for a customer site. The PDC Manager will work with commercial and retail sales to provide insight for safe deliveries to new and existing customers as well as support and resolve any customer concerns or complaints. The PDC Manager will oversee all daily operations to ensure WKC policies and best practice procedures are followed with maximize stewardship, safety, quality (product integrity) and productivity. This position is responsible for maintaining a high degree of professionalism and leadership throughout the aligned team. Principal Responsibilities Manage and direct a team of transport, tank wagon, DEF and lube drivers, warehouse managers and workers, technicians, working with the Transportation Manager on proper training, coaching and processes. Manage a tank farm where applicable, working with HSE, Supply, Logistics, tank wagon dispatch, Transportation Manager and the Tank Systems Manager on such issues as environmental compliance, inventory, replenishment, driver loading, repairs and monitoring. Subject matter expert on loading and delivery SOPs, legal requirements and specialized equipment. Subject matter expert where applicable, on major and secondary brand lubes products, including material handling, product integrity and compatibility. Responsible for the profit and loss of the PDC. Evaluate and communicate PDC drivers' job performance in alignment with Transportation Manager to assure that individual achievements, disciplinary procedures and personnel issues are properly documented with human resources as required. Maintaining budget targets, controlling expenses, controlling over time and maintaining efficiencies. Increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards. Responsible for production output, product integrity, properly prepared loads with on-time shipping and delivery. Working with the Transportation Manager and Fleet Managers to keep rolling stock assets maintained and ready for use. Work with HR and recruiting to recruit, manage and develop drivers and facility team members. Produce, update and maintain Tier III's specific to your site while ensuring facility Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) are being upheld with the highest level of stewardship. Effective inventory management including timely end of month reconciliation and variance reporting. (Diesel, Gasoline, Lubes, DEF, tanks) Use of existing systems and processes to track productivity and performance metrics with a constant focus toward efficient and profitable growth. Work with customers to resolve disputes and problems. Work with HSE Manager to ensure that the facility specific Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasures plan is current and communicated to all new and existing warehouse and driver team members annually. Work with HSE Manager to perform and document monthly and annual facility inspections to identify and address potential safety or product integrity concerns. Works with HSE to investigate all facility or delivery procedure failure incidents and report all incidents and near misses in a timely manner and complete SIRUS root cause investigation within one week of an accident or event. Work with procurement to order and maintain office supplies, PPE equipment, warehouse supplies and other items needed for your team to perform daily duties as needed. Adheres to all city, county, state and federal regulations. Continually monitor driver paperwork making sure it is correct, timely and legible for the billing group. This may include driver coaching on proper paperwork scanning, penmanship or delivery reconciliation as well as the location and submission of missing paperwork Participates in the development of content and the presentation of material for all safety meetings and toolbox talks in conjunction with the Transportation Manager, HSE and HR. Ensuring all team members are properly trained how to use facility equipment safely and that the equipment is properly maintained. Additional duties as assigned. Education Required College degree preferred with 5 years of experience or equivalent transferrable experience. Work Experience Required Prior experience as a manager required and experience as a CDL driver preferred DOT and Hazardous training and experience preferred Knowledge and understanding of lubes, tank wagon fuel and all related protocols. Prior P&L experience preferred Technical Skills & Specific Knowledge Required Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively. Proficient in MS Office Suite applications i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Problem solves with minimal supervision. Accurate and precise attention to detail. High level of organization. Knowledge of US DOT regulations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
