Staff Accountant

will handle the preparation and maintenance of financial records to monitor the organization’s assets, liabilities, income, tax obligations, and other financial activities. This role will also encompass handling transactions associated with disbursements and funding. Key Responsibilities: Perform general cost accounting activities. Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and profit & loss reports on a monthly basis. Maintain and update the general ledger. Open new accounts, reconcile accounts, and aid in closing quarterly financial records. Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and respond to inquiries from banks. Reconcile cash disbursement, payroll, and customer accounts along with other financial transactions. Assist external auditors by gathering necessary financial data and documentation for the annual audit. File tax documentation with federal, state, and local authorities. Manage daily disbursement processes. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, NetSuite, Salesforce, and QuickBooks. Strong understanding of general financial and cost accounting principles. Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Experience with tax preparation is a bonus. Ideal Candidate Attributes: Prior experience in equipment leasing is an advantage. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team. Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. Ability to remain efficient and productive even during high workloads and shifting priorities. Additional Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and composition. Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact, diplomacy, and a positive attitude.
